Reflection in Square
Ink stick, charcoal, acrylic paint on printmaking paper. My energy for this painting derives from the feeling of the vertical intersecting with the horizontal . . . horizon / land interacting with building / reaching. I felt reflection on water, shadow stretching on land, root of earth elements, of excavated life forms, historic foundations. I was attempting to express this eternal dynamic, a human forging of new life.
