Water Music

Katherine Borkowski-Byrne’s “Water Music” is a painterly abstract oil painting on canvas 30 x 40 x 1 inches with spontaneous brushwork in saturated blues, greens and reds on an all blue background. This painting is part of a series of abstractions with the intention of the feeling of floating objects. “Water Music” is unframed with sides painted white and the signature on the reverse.

Katherine paints while listening to opera and translates the many layered-music into many-layered paintings. She is influenced by the art of the New York School of Abstract Expressionism with its focus on being in the moment and the use of fortunate accidents and experimental techniques.
