Frank Gregory has maintained a studio art practice since graduating from the Massachusetts College of Art in 1985. Initially an abstractionist, he later began designing and fabricating large scale public art, receiving several commissions nationwide. He also works in for art museums as a freelance preparator, framer, and mount-maker. For the past ten years Frank has been concentrating on making easel paintings, both in the studio and outside. These works are exhibited widely and are in many collections both in the United States and overseas. His work is characterized by large confident mark-making, carefully crafted compositions and unexpected subjects and narratives. Frank received an Orlowsky / Freed Foundation Grant from the Provincetown Art Museum in 2017, and regularly shows in galleries in Maine and on Cape Cod. Frank currently maintains a painting studio and work shop in Greenfield Massachusetts.
