Kelly E. Potter was born in rural West Stockbridge MA, where she grew up exploring and learning to navigate the forest. She has studied and worked as an illustrator, academic figure sculptor, ceramicist, and a studio assistant to artists specializing in oil painting, ceramics, sculpture, and model-making. Potter completed her BFA Magna Cum Laude in Studio Arts with a concentration in painting at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she was awarded the Chancellor’s Talent Award, George M. Wardlaw Scholarship, and Second Place Juried Junior Senior Show Award. Her work has been exhibited throughout the CT river valley, the Berkshires MA, and Brooklyn, NY. In 2023 Potter completed a solo residency at Chesterwood, Stockbridge MA with Berkshire Art Center. In 2024 she was awarded the Grant for Creative Individuals from the Mass Cultural Council.
