Neel Webber joined the Art department at Monument Mountain Regional High School in 1995. He teaches a variety of classes including Foundations, Ceramics, Photography, and Computer Graphics. He manages the production of the yearbook and has been Artistic Director of the Berkshire Craft Fair for 17 years.
Prior to his tenure at MMRHS, Neel showed his sculpture in Chicago, Rochester NY, and New York City. Occasionally he installed work in the deep woods of Canada. Neel has traveled through Europe, trekked in Nepal and wandered through India and Southeast Asia. He photographed most everything that aroused his curiosity.
His teaching career began with Studio In A School, a not for profit organization that places practicing artists in NYC public schools that have no art programs. This was an awakening for a young white guy from the suburbs, it was an experience that deeply and profoundly shaped his perception of humanity. From New York, Neel moved to the north shore of Long Island where he taught at The Greenvale School and Friends World College.
Neel earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Fine Art at The University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree From the School of Visual Art in Manhattan. He was a studio assistant for the sculptors Jackie Windsor, Michael Singer and Ursula Von Rydingsvard. Although his background is in sculpture, he has been trained in the use of Adobe Creative Suite since 1995. He has also studied printmaking at The Chicago Art Institute and University of Massachusetts Amherst.
