Gail Gelburd, is a writer about art, and someone who creates art. Her works cross the
boundaries of the disciplines in order to focus on the intersection of art, the environment,
social issues and spirituality. Her work has been included in exhibitions and private collections
in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Florida, California, Oregon, Brooklyn,
Colorado, Skopelos Greece, Melbourne Australia and Goa India. Her art has been reviewed and
she has been interviewed in print, online, social media, radio, and television. In April 2022 she
was featured and on the cover of The Artful Mind Magazine. In her work she tells the stories of
floods and poverty, spirituality and the power of nature. Gelburd works with photography and
encaustics, and has given workshops on installation art. She transforms her photographs into
three dimensional objects be they a suitcase, in a light box, or as a life sized figure. Her art
installation was a part of an exhibition entitled Color Your World which traveled to four
museum venues. Her images of floods and water have been exhibited in galleries, museums
and commissioned for a 50 foot atrium space. Her work on the Tsunami of Japan and the
earthquake in Nepal were featured in a solo exhibition at MS 17 in New London Ct. She was
included in the Art of the Hills exhibition at the Berkshire Museum, and had a major exhibition
at the Becket Art Center and Art on Main in West Stockbridge.
