We invite visual artists and crafters living or working in the Berkshires and surrounding counties to enter our juried call for art. This call celebrates local talent and offers an art show at Eastover Contemporary Art Space in Lenox, MA, significant PR opportunities through AITB, and cash awards.

About Art in the Berkshires
Art in the Berkshires (AITB) is your go-to guide for discovering visual art events, artists, and art venues in Berkshire County and surrounding areas. We focus on supporting local artists and venues by offering high-quality promotional opportunities at little to no cost, helping them connect with their audience.
Submission Guidelines:
Entries: Artists may submit up to three pieces, but only one entry per artist will be considered.
Deadline: All submissions must be finalized by 11:59 PM (Eastern) on the deadline date.
Usage Consent: Selected artists must consent to their work being used for:
Advertising and print media for the show.
Inclusion in the Art in the Berkshires online gallery through the end of 2025.
Additional promotional purposes as described in this prospectus.
Original Work: Submitted artwork must be created by the artist, who must also hold its copyright.
Eligibility:
Artists must be 21 years or older.
Artists must live or work within 40 miles of Berkshire County.
Art Categories:
2-Dimensional Wall-Hung Art: Original work only (no reproductions).
3-Dimensional Art: Sculptures and similar work.
Alternative Media: Includes digital art, video art, wearable art, sound art, or other innovative media. Performance or time-derived art must be submitted as recordings.
Fine Crafts: Functional objects created using traditional or contemporary techniques, such as pottery, weaving, woodworking, metalworking, and glassblowing.
Jury Process
Judging Period: The judging process will take place over three weeks following the submission deadline.
Judging Criteria: Submissions will be evaluated based on the following:
Artistic Merit: Overall creativity and aesthetic quality of the work.
Originality: Uniqueness and innovation in the concept or execution.
Technical Skill: Demonstrated proficiency in the medium and technique.
Selection:
Six winners will be chosen as part of the show’s awards process:
One winner in each of the four art categories.
One "Best in Show" winner.
One "Crowd Favorite," selected by show visitors through a voting process.
The winners for the four categories and "Best in Show" will be announced during the reception on June 7, 2025. The "Crowd Favorite" winner will be revealed online after the voting concludes. Results will be shared on:
Each of the six winners will receive a cash prize of up to $500.
Sales Requirements:
For Sale Only: Selected artwork must be available for sale during the show at Eastover. If sold before the show, the piece becomes ineligible. (Alternative media submissions may get a pass on this after contacting CallforArt@artintheberkshires.com)
Online Sales: Artwork must remain for sale to be listed in the Art in the Berkshires online gallery. Sold pieces will be removed from the online gallery. (Alternative media submissions may get a pass on this after contacting CallforArt@artintheberkshires.com)
Sales Fees:
Physical and Online Shows: 70% of sales proceeds go to the artist, and 30% to Art in the Berkshires.
Outside Sales During the Show Period: If the artwork sells independently during the show period (June 1 - December 31, 2025), Art in the Berkshires requests a 15% referral fee.
